Responsible for environmental regulatory compliance assessment, Level I, II ESAs, environmental compliance planning, industrial waste treatment, site investigation and remedial planning and cleanup oversight, USEPA Form R and biennial reporting, air and water quality projects, waste minimization planning, spill prevention control and countermeasure (SPCC) planning, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) permits and compliance evaluations, CERCLA and Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) auditing and site cleanup, and NPDES permitting. Additional work included the design and implementation of a customized waste reuse and treatment system for pesticide rinse water and baghouse dust. This work required comprehensive understanding of local, state , and federal regulations, strong communication skills and a proficiency in computer applications. Additional responsibilities have included environmental tax credit evaluations, initiation of waste minimization planning, coordination of personnel training, remedial action implementation and budget management.
April 1986 – November 1987 AUGAT MICROTEC, Newbury Park, CA
Process Control Chemist/Environmental, Health & Safety Manager
Responsible for implementing and maintaining an environmental compliance program and for conducting health and safety training at a printed circuit manufacturing facility in southern California. Work also included bench-scale treatability research to establish new waste treatment reuse methods for chelated ammoniacal electroless copper plating solutions and dissolved photoresist stripping solutions.

Process Control Chemist/ Environmental, Health & Safety Manager
Responsible for maintaining the proper chemistry in 26 electroplating processes, and for general laboratory supervision at a wheelchair manufacturing facility. Additional work activities focused on chemically-related cost reduction projects for the metal finishing and environmental engineering departments. Promoted to environmental engineer and then responsible for project work on special waste minimization techniques, such as chrome recovery, ion exchange and reverse osmosis. Also responsible for performing environmental chemistry using atomic absorption and gas chromatography.
May 1980 – September 1982 U.S. STEEL CORPORATION, Pittsburg, CA
Process Control Chemist
Performed metallographic spectrophotometric analysis and general quantitative chemistry on wire, tin-plated and steel samples from the fabrication mills. Maintained pickle line acid wash solutions by potentiometric titration and was expected to show proficiency in metallography and statistical process control. Additional work included lab management and coordination of metallurgical research projects.
